I Can't Wait til Tuckerville Returns....
It's 8:23 pm as I begin this post. So far, I can't count how many times I've groaned, "Oh, geesh" or screamed "SHUT-UP!!!!" at the television. Now I know it's just the first audition show. But don't they want us to watch the following shows? I can't believe I've left the television on this long. I've got an exciting book about financial planning to read tonight. Between the Jewel, Carrie, Katharine, and Bo wannabees...and the Urban Amish dude, Waterboy, Apollo Creed, Kooky Cowboy, The Lion, Scary Brenna, Dancing Queen Josh who was having a really "Bad Day," the "I want women not girls" girl and the bleeping people (which is something that I absolutely HATE on this show), this is just not fun. Oh, and I really hate it when people screw up "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing." That really irks my irker. I wanted Dayna Dooley to be good...but without her boss who looks eerily like a local preacher here in town, she can't sing a lick. With him, she sounded quite pleasant. Can you please tell me why they just let them go on and on and freaking on? Today at school, one of my students scratched her fingernail across the chalkboard. Tonight's AI is reminicent of my 6th hour experience. But because I'm such a positive person, I have to point out that I do like the fact that the judges are not arguing about everything. It's a nice change from all the grouching and bickering. Ava pointed out that they aren't arguing because the auditions are either good or bad. There's nothing to argue about. She's a smart kid. I'm not sure how I feel about Jewel as a judge yet. I like her as a singer but I'm not sure what she'll bring to the table. But hey...if we're giving the singers a chance...Jewel deserves as much. Right?
Okay....they said 17 went through to Hollywood. Denise Jackson (crack baby) was the first one to sound even bearable. Strong voice...but I'm not sold yet. I liked the Columbian girl that sang Hips Don't Lie. But I agree that song choice is going to be hard for her. Jarrod and Rachael (military peeps) were decent. Michelle...who sang the Deanna Carter song may have a slight chance. I liked her. But my favorite of the night was Sarah Krugeur who sang "Over the Rainbow." I'd even venture to say Top 10.
It's 9:12 pm now...the show is over. I'm heading to bed to read that exciting book on financial planning until the news comes on. We got several calls tonight about no school tomorrow because of ice...and I just want to be sure that I didn't imagine them. If we're out of school tomorrow...and we have electricity, it will be a perfect time to catch up on yall's blogs!
By the way...especially after tonight, I'm so excited about the return of Tuckerville in April. I simply can't wait. I just love that Tanya.
