Gracious authors and a rite of passage...
Yesterday, I received the most gracious handwritten note from Kimberly Willis Holt. Back during the holidays, I sent her a note telling her how much I enjoyed meeting her and that I was writing again. Her note is now in a frame right here by the computer as I write. She's gracious and encouraging and ends her note..."And don't forget to invite me to your first book signing." How's that for encouragement!?!Ava spent the night with a friend...and they ended up going to the skating rink with a few other friends. At first...it freaked me out. But then I decided that I am going to have to loosen the reins a little. We start out on a clean slate...and as long as she doesn't do anything to make me lose trust in her, then I have to allow her a little room to grow. Coming to this conclusion was a pretty tough one. A rite of passage of sorts. Growing up is hard on Mama and Daddy, too.
Well, I'll write again in a bit. I've got a few things to do around the house this morning. If Monkey would just go to work!
Later Dudettes!
