Surgery was no holiday...
Monkey did have to have the second eye surgery as was pretty much expected. We got to Houston Wednesday evening, saw the doctor on Thursday, and it was determined that Monkey would have the surgery Friday morning. This was not an easy surgery...but he did fine. When the doctor took the patch off, I had to leave the room. He looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to his head. Horrible. The surgery took over two hours and he had some pain afterwards which he didn't have after the first surgery. There is still a chance for retinal detachment but if he takes care of himself, they're expecting 100% recovery. I'm feeding and watering (which I really don't mind at all)...and I won't let him lift a finger. Once he gets well, I'll make up for all of this. Don't worry. Ava and I call him "Bug" because he has to wear those big bug sunglasses. He doesn't appreciate us. But that's okay, he needs us.Since I didn't get to study for my exam that's tomorrow and write my paper that's due next week, I've really been flipping back and forth on the dropping my class thing again. But I think I've decided to stick it out once again. (I'm thinking that I'll be going through this all semester.) I'll just study for my test tonight. God help me. And write the paper this weekend. God help me more.
I didn't have much of a spring break...but I did get to put AnnaBanana's little baby saddle on my baby, Trash. I'm so proud of him. He just stood there and let me put it on his back...and didn't even move. I was able to cinch it up and he just stood there like the good boy he is. Of course, he's too young to try to ride but I wanted him to get comfortable being saddled up with a little bitty saddle. As he gets older, I'll keep working with him and getting him comfortable with stuff...but nobody will be plopping their butt on my baby until he's turned two years old. Even then...it's not going to be a fat butt.
I've got a big surprise but you'll just have to come back to find out what it is. I can't wait to share! Shoot! I have to, though.
Later Dudettes!
