Hospitals, Science Projects and Rome...
Friday, I was sitting here racking my brain trying to think of stuff to write about. Then I went to lunch. And got a phone call. From Monkey. He's really sick and needs to me take him to the hospital. Now, in twelve years of marriage, I've never taken him to the hospital. The time, he had chest pains...we got up for work...left just like normal...then I get a call from the hospital that I need to come up there because my husband is having some tests for his heart. That was 1997. I mean this was a bong in the head for me. I was upset because I didn't know what was wrong. I just got there as fast as I could. Long story short...his blood pressure was 261 over 98...caused from the severe pain that he was in. He has a cataract that was scheduled to be removed on February 14 but Friday, he started having some excruiating pain in his right eye...which made him feel weak and dizzy. The pain moved over his nose and covered the whole right side of his face. Well, after the whole afternoon at the hospital...he's going to be okay. He's at the eye clinic right now...waiting to see the doctor. If the pressure in his eye is down, they'll0 move the surgery up to tomorrow. Then on Saturday, Ava and I went to town to get the pictures developed for her science project. While we were gone, we got a call...and were reminded that she had a birthday party that afternoon. Well, we were late but we made it. When I was there to pick her up, the birthday boy's grandmother asked me if I wanted to take a trip to Rome in September. (Try to imagine if you will...total silence in my head.) Um, yes!
Anyway, we go home and work on the science project.
When I go to bed, I tell Monkey about Rome. He doesn't say no. He just says that Ava can't go. I kind of leave it alone until I have more information.
So at church yesterday, Ms. Jo brings me the itinerary. Oh my gosh!!! Anyway, we went to the Yucatan Mexican Restuarant yesterday at lunch...and low and behold...met up with another couple who's going. They keep asking Monkey if I'm going...and Monkey says, "Do I really have a choice?" So YEAH!!! I'm going Italy in September!!!!! I'm so freaking excited!!!
I'm going at lunch today to get my passport so I can send in my registration. Have I mentioned how excited I am???
Anyway, so we get home from church...my intention was to help Ava finish up that science project, get the laundry done and study for my test which is Tuesday. But Monkey tells me that his sister broke her ankle in three places this morning...and is in the hospital...already had surgery to put a plate in it. "Don't you think you should go check on her?" (I didn't say what I wanted to because you know...Rome.) So I left again to go check on his sister. Note to self...don't get crazy when washing dishes with the sprayer...because you just might slip and break your ankle. But anyway, she came the through the surgery fine and was doing good when I saw her at the hospital.
So by the time I get home, Ava and Monkey had gone across the street to the Super Bowl game. I decided to walk over there for just a minute. Yeah. Right. So I stayed a while but had to get home to get some things done.
Status of the laundry...washed and dried. Must be folded tonight.
Status of the sciece project...must be finished Tuesday night before American Idol.
Status of studying for my English test...haven't cracked a book. Must cram tonight.
I did get a picture and my birth certificate together. I hope that's all I need for my passport. I've never done that before.
Okay...I think this is all the excitement that we all can stand right now. Thank you for your attention. You can go back to your life now.
Later Dudettes.
