7:00 pm on Fox...Be There!

I had lunch with Monkey today. I didn't mention the fact that his snoring is keeping me awake at night. It wouldn't do any good because he'd just tell me how loud I snore. Of course, I don't sleep. So I don't snore.

Speaking of sleeping and snoring...it would be a really great day to do either one. It was drizzling ice this morning and it was only 39 degrees at lunchtime. Any other time, we could get the slightest drop of ice and everything shuts down. But not this time. Nope. Buses were running, school was open and I had to go to work. Dab-nabit. (I'm such a goodie two shoes. Sometimes I'd like to let a string of cuss words go...and make yall think I'd really lost it.) Now this is a grossly unfair generalization (I'm sure) but people in Louisiana do not know how to drive in icy weather. The exception would be me, of course. But my point is (and what does it really matter being that everything is open today?) that wouldn't it be better to close stuff down in icy weather than to risk the lives of its citizens who don't know how to drive in crazy weather. (Okay...the truth is..it's not THAT bad. I'd just prefer to be home today.)

I spent the whole weekend helping Ava with projects so I didn't get to work on my presentation. I guess I'll have to do that tonight. We don't have to do it until Thursday but we meet again to finish things up tomorrow. There are six presentations and we are third. I like to be first or last...but not smack dab in the middle. Oh, but such is life. Anyway, tonight, I'll have stuff to do when I can't sleep. Because yall know that American Idol comes on three nights this week. Guys tonight, girls tomorrow and then results. I may try to "live blog" tonight. I don't know. It depends on whether I can lay claim to the computer before Monkey and Ava do. But anyway, I'm looking forward to tonight's show and I'll let you know what I think about it. You can rest assured.

Friday night, I was reading a book about the life of St. Francis of Assisi while watching What Not To Wear. Man...I'm conflicted. St. Francis lived a life of simplicity and goodness. He loved nature and is the patron saint of ecology. I love his devotion to Christ and his vow of simplicity. But then I watch What Not To Wear (and love it, I have to admit) and I want to get rid of all my clothes. And buy all new ones. TV is the devil. That's what it is.

Speaking of books, I just heard about this book called "Teeth in a Pickle Jar" by H. B. Milligan. Now is that a great title or what? I want to read the book just so I can say "I'm reading Teeth in a Pickle Jar. What are you reading?" You know my book is going to "sound" more interesting than yours even if all the words after the title stink. I read the reviews on Amazon and it sounds like a good airplane book. Maybe I'll get it to read on the plane in September. Cause that's the next time I'll need an airplane book. When I go to Italy. In September. Did I mention that before? Oh, yeah. I did.

This weekend is the annual Mardi Gras trail ride and parade. I'm having a real hard time getting excited about riding a horse in 32 degree weather. I'm thinking that "all you can drink" beer isn't even enough to make me want to go. Of course, it was 32 degrees this morning but it may be 60 degrees Saturday. This is Louisiana. The weather may change by Friday. I may change my tune by Friday. I hope I change my tune by Friday. Think "all you can drink" beer wagon. Think "beer wagon." Beer Wagon. Beer Wagon.

Later Dudettes.
