We had a blast today on our trip to the Myrtles Plantation. I took pictures of everything in hopes of catching a glimpse of one of the past residents. I can't believe it but...Chloe was good enough to pose for a picture!
Chloe made an appearance in the top right window. I blew this picture up on my computer and it is clearly the form of a woman wearing a turban on her head. Chloe was a slave at the Myrtles that poisoned the owner's children and wife. She was hung on the property. Before she killed (accidently, they say) the children, her ear was cut off because she was caught snooping. After that she always wore a green turban knotted on one side to hide the missing ear. This picture was taken on "the most active" side of the house. Since we didn't get to go upstairs (it's where the paying guests stay now)...we didn't find out what room that was but we will definitely be going back again at night so we can take the mystery tour!
