Imagine...this is my head.
The following is a bunch of stuff strung together in a list...because these days, that's how I think.Yall...if I can just make it through this week, I am off of work until January 3, 2006! If I can just make it through tomorrow, I will be finished with my classes for the semester. If I can just make it til Monday...I am going back to my hometown for the first time in 15 years!
I think I had my first real anxiety attack last night. I am so stressing out about my French final. Ugh. It's funny that just weeks ago...my French class made me giddy. Today, it makes my stomach hurt. At this point, I just want it to be over with.
We spent all day Saturday riding our horses in small town parades who seem to pride themselves in being redneck. I've never seen so many trucks pulling boats with Christmas trees in them...or oh, my gosh...lawnmowers. When did lawnmowers become the "in" mode of transportation? I still think horses are so cool. Even after riding from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm...even with leg muscles that scream out in pain with every involuntary movement...even with the bruises on my butt that make me look abused. (I don't know why my butt bruises when I ride for a long time. Honestly, on Cherokee, my butt never left the saddle. He is as smooth as glass.) I rode my new horse, Cherokee. I am superstitious about changing a horse's name...but I wanted this horse to be named...Tucker. So instead of changing his name...I just added to it. So I tried to name him Tucker Cherokee...and call him Tucker. But it's just not clicking. His name is Cherokee.
I would rather be riding my horse than anything else in the world. Especially right this minute. Oh, after Friday, I can ride anytime I want to for two whole weeks. YeeeeeeHawwwwwww!
Yesterday, after church, I straightened the house. Did laundry. Baked White Chocolate and Cranberry cookies for the soldiers. Wrapped ten gifts for all of A's teachers, her friends' mamas, her cousin, Jake and her bus driver. Went outside and rode M's crazy new mare, Blossom. (She doesn't come close to Cherokee, Pride, or Shorty.) But I stayed on...and she didn't scare me...like she would have a year ago. Then I went back in and finished the cookies and wrapped the rest of the Christmas presents that were piled on the floor of my closet. Now, we're ready for Santy-Claus. Everything to avoid sitting down with that French book. Round bout 8:30 last night...j'etudie. (I studied.)
Let's see...here's what's happening at our house this week....
Monday night...Etudier!
Tuesday night...Bake cookies for A's CCD party.
Wednesday night...A's CCD party.
Thurday night...Bake cookies for A's class party.
Friday...A's Christmas program and party...A got a part in the play. She plays a crybaby. But it's her mama who's crying because I can't take off to go see her. I think I'm going to leave here at 2:00 pm and go pick her up at school, though. I hope that makes her happy.
I spent the day telling my family how bad they would miss me if I wasn't around. But that's a whole nuther post.
