A crazy week...
This week has been crazy at work. I realized this week that one of my main fall projects is due in just a month. With all the hurricane stuff, the semester just got away from me. So I had to take a look of what had to get done and get it done. I accomplished quite a bit at work this week and feel confident that I will meet my deadline with no problem. My classes are going fine. I made an "A" on my French test last week. So far, so good. I have an Internet project due Monday night for my computer class which I have to finish today or tomorrow. I should have had it finished. But I guess I fell into the typical student mode...procrastinate. Then I have to read an article about Fair Use and Copyright and write my opinion of the article...sounds exciting, huh? NOT!Life here in central Louisiana is slowly getting back to a somewhat normal pace. Gas is still in short supply here...and you still get gas where and when you can...and you pay the price. But even that's becoming somewhat normal. I haven't ventured out to my garden to begin re-designing and re-planting. I think I'm about ready to start thinking about starting over out there. I just have to find some time.
Since I last wrote, I've read two pretty good books and I'm bout finished with a third. Clyde Edgerton is a southern author who's coming to Alexandria later in the month so I'm reading his books. So far, I've read Walking Across Egypt, Killer Diller and I'm finishing up Raney now. I'll probably read Lunch at the Picadilly next. I'm enjoying them. He's quite funny and writes about people, places and things that I am so familiar with. I know his characters personally, it seems.
We got a cold front yesterday and this morning, it was a just perfect morning to put on a big ole gumbo pot of vegetable beef soup. It's simmering right now...and it smells delish! I'm gonna make up some cornbread and a peach cobbler for lunch.
I told A that she could have a Halloween party again this year. She had one last year and all her friends were asking her if she was having another one. I wasn't planning to have one every year but this might become an annual event after all. So we need to get up in the attic and go through our Halloween stuff so we can see what we need. I love dressing up for Halloween and giving A a party...is a great excuse!
Well, I've got to go get lunch on the table. Will write again soon!
