Testing Flylady...
I'm taking another break. I've got about 15 minutes of work left to do and six minutes of my break left. So I wanted to write about my Flylady experiment that I conducted today. Flylady (www.flylady.net) teaches certain techniques that to some may seem a little crazy. But today, I put them to the test and I do believe she has something here.1. Shine the kitchen sink. When I cleaned my kitchen sink this morning, it seemed that the areas around the sink and even into the next rooms got cleaned without me even realizing it. It seems that that shiny sink just spreads the desire to get the rest of the house clean. (Now I need to put this concept to work in my bathroom...then I'd be finished with the house.)
2. Dress to the shoes. I still have my tennis shoes on and I definitely believe this has helped today in the energy department. I took a bath and washed my hair but I put yoga pants on and I didn't fix my hair or face. All day long...I'm thinking I should have fixed my hair and face. What if someone rings my doorbell?
3. Declutter first. The easiest rooms the clean are the ones that were the least cluttered. That's why I'm sitting here at the computer rather than cleaning my bedside table and my bathroom.
4. Take frequent breaks. I rewarded myself with breaks today and I don't feel as resentful as I would have if I would have worked for 8 hours straight without a break.
5. Routines, routines, routines. If I would have a regular routine, I wouldn't have had to clean for 8 hours today.
I think one of the best things about Flylady's way is that we are ready for anything.
Okay...off to finish my bedside table and my bathroom. Back in a bit.
