Some "Idol" chatter...

I've been thinking about this all day today. Yes, I went to work. Then I went to Sam's and bought a pool. Then I went and sat in 90 degree weather and had to be all nice to 150 fourth graders all in the name of being a good mama. (I was a Field Day Volunteer.) But I can think about Bo and do a million other things. I am...may I remind you..a mama. Mamas can do hundreds of things at the same time unlike our male counterparts (otherwise known as husbands and fathers). Maybe it's just my husband and my child's father (because I hate to generalize)...but he's always saying to me..."Now how am I going to watch TV AND make sure A gets her homework?" Oh, I wouldn't know because I've never just done two things at once. If you add, cooking, cleaning, and laundry to that list...I may be able to help ya there. But I digress.

Anyhoo...about tonight. I've heard from other sources now that Bo was definitely sick. Not only did he have a cold but he was suffering from food poisoning. He's an amazing performer. If you didn't watch his every move and breathe every breath with him, you may have never known. But I did because as I've been called today (lovingly, I'm sure), I'm obsessed. I don't know if what I'm fixing to say is because I believe it or because I'm bracing myself for what may happen tonight. I'm not sure.

This is what we know about Bo. Bo is almost 30 years old. He's a seasoned performer who knows who he is musically and personally. He's not going to be controlled.

This is what we know about Carrie. She's younger and although, she's got beautiful vocals, she's not a true entertainer.

Okay...what I'm thinking here is that in a highly calculated move, Carrie may just be the next American Idol. I say this because I'm finding that Carrie is very popular in A's age group. I'm thinking that Carrie is probably a lot more marketable than Bo. She's model beautiful. She could sell makeup, hair color, shampoos, clothes, shoes...you name it. She's got the little girls wanting to be just like Carrie. I know for a fact...this age group spends money. I think at this point, it's about much, much more than singing. It's about who can bring in the most money. I think that AI is going to turn Carrie into a money making machine. Think about Inside Your Heaven. Even though Bo did a better job on the song, it wasn't written for Bo. It was a ballad...not a engergetic rockin' song Bo usually does. Yeah, Bo showed his softer side and showed he could do it. But I wouldn't think that Bo would release a song like that for his first single. The song was perfect for Carrie. Maybe Simon's remark about Carrie doing enough to win the competition was just a ploy to get us to watch tonight...but maybe it was a true prediction of what is yet to come. Either way, I've had fun watching and speculating this season. Bo has rekindled a part of me long forgotten.

Dear God...what will I talk about once this is over with?
