I guess there's no pleasing me...

No, really. I can be pleased. If I could just not have to be stuck up in this office...I would be greatly pleased. Anyhoo...this is the only day I have to work all day this week. I get off at noon tomorrow and Wednesday and I'm off all day Thursday and Friday. But I've got things to do each day this week. But at least I won't be at work. I am actually trying to get some work done this afternoon as I spent most of the morning trying to figure out how I am going to use the rest of my time off this summer. Yes, I work at my current job...not because of money...but because the time off is really good.

My garden is looking great. I'm going to try to get some pictures on Flickr this week so yall can share in my joy. Of course, I'm having to water like crazy everyday because we haven't got a drop of rain since the day my daddy tilled up my garden plot and I planted the first plant. It's drier than a bone here so every evening, I drag the water hose for about a mile out to my little garden and stand out there trying to save my garden. So far, everything is alive...but it's exactly the same size as when I planted it. I've got 22 tomato plants, cucumbers, cantaloupe, squash, bell peppers, sweet banana peppers, habernero (I may have spelled that wrong...suffice it to say...they're HOT!)peppers, strawberries, blackberries and watermelons. I'm praying desperately for a soaking rain that lasts for about a week or so. I'm seriously considering a rain dance right about now. Not only do I have fruits and veggies, I have gardenias, hibiscus, lillies, verbena, begonias, and all kinds of flowers that I don't even know the name of. It's really going to be pretty when I get it all finished. My fingernails may never be the same, though. (I know...that's why they make garden gloves. I bought some...but I can't seem to work as well with them on.)

Let's see....what else? Oh, this is American Idol finale week. I've been so busy outside that I haven't even checked around to see what to expect. Luckily, I get off early tomorrow so I can do my garden trick (pretending to be God...by holding the water hose with the shower nozzle above my plants...thus tricking them into thinking it is raining) early. Note to Christybelle: As much as I love you, Sweetheart...please refrain from calling me until BOTING is over. ;) Supper will be in the crock pot...even though I don't have a clue as to what it will be.

I'm looking pretty rough these days. As soon as I get my garden finished, I need to work on me.
