The stuff that's cluttering my mind today...

1. I'm really not too upset that I missed American Idol Tuesday night...after watching the results show last night. Once again, the only ones that really stood out was Carrie and Bo. Carrie...because she's already a star. Bo...because he's already a star. At this point, I have the tendency to "like" most of them but more on the "oh, I feel sorry that they have to go because I feel like I know them" level rather than the "they can't sing, perform, or entertain" level. This week, several things are bugging me...more than usual about the show. First, the weekly "themes"...you've got a country singer and a Southern rocker who are can sing and perform like seasoned entertainers...but you MAKE them sing a song from a musical or a genre other than what they do best...and then the judges say stupid things like..."Your song choice was bad" or "Stick to what you do best". If you want them to find what they do best, let them do it. Don't put the pressure of "themes" on them. When Carrie or Bo wins, they will naturally record songs in the country or rock genres because that's where they fit. They know that and their fans know that. If the point is for the singer to push their own musical envelope, then the judges should evaluate their performance based on other things...how well they actually sang the song, stage presence, etc. Second, Ryan just really got on my nerves last night. "Tonight is the end of a dream for one person." Repeatedly saying how someone is "going home." We freaking know that someone is going home. Don't freaking make that person feel like a loser because he isn't the strongest contestant. If I heard "bottom three" or "the three with the lowest number of votes" one more time...I was going to scream. Say it once if you have to...but I felt so bad for the three people standing on the stage. If one of them had been my baby, I'd just HAVE to given Ryan a quick lesson in manners. I felt like a mama watching her baby and "don't nobody hurt my baby and get away with it!" I know the music business is hard and unforgiving...but they have all come a long way...and they deserve some respect.

2. Last night, I cleaned out about six boxes that were stashed under my bed. I'm fixing to redo my bedroom and I'm in the "Spring Cleaning" mood now!

3. Tonight, we have to go to mass because A is becoming an altar server.

4. Last Saturday night, A rode in her first rodeo. She did soooooo great even though her Shorty isn't the fastest horse on the block. That's okay because he's a good horse. We've got another rodeo Saturday night. I'm so excited! I can't wait!

5. I hate it when I have to work hard at the office. There are so many other things that I would really rather be doing.
