I can't believe it's been a week...

Last Wednesday was my last day at work and I guess life happens at home...I can't believe that I haven't posted in a week! So here's a recap...

Thursday, March 24: I took off today to be with Mike at the hospital. He had to have a mole removed from his face. But he didn't have to be at the hospital until 1:00 pm so I ran some errands in the morning and checked A out of school early so she could be with him, too. When he came home at noon for us to go to the hospital, he was in the crappiest mood. He was a royal azzhole...and I told him that, too. I was driving down the road and he was still chewing my azz for one thing or the other. Before we got a mile down the road, I turned that truck around and went back home. I stopped in the middle of the driveway and told him to get out. He could drive his ownself to the hospital...and if he couldn't drive home...he could just stay at the hospital until he could drive because hell would freeze over before I'd come and get him. I was so mad. I cleaned my whole house in less than three hours. That's amazing in itself. When he came home, he apologized. This was good because he really pushed me to the limit that time. But anyway, we had an invitation to the new Copeland's restuarant. They didn't open for real until Monday but they were doing training so we went to check it out. I told Mike that I wanted to pass by Target when we left Copeland's to check out what they had in iPods. I loved Copeland's! I can't wait to eat there again. We had Bayou Brocolli which is brocolli and cheese fried in a delicious batter and served with roumelade (I don't have a clue how to spell that!) sauce. That was the appetizer. Delish! Then we had shrimp scampi and tomato basil chicken. Both were wonderful! I had two beers at Copeland's...and was in a little better mood after we left. We didn't get dessert but we saw a slice of cheesecake that was about a foot tall with strawberries and cool whip. But I couldn't put another thing in my mouth. I was stuffed! Anyway, we ran by Target to look at iPods. All that Target carried locally was the iPod Shuffles. So I called all the places in town that carried electronics (on my cell phone in the car on the way home) and the only other place that carried them was the Radio Shack on my side of the river...but they had the ones that held 5,000 and 10,000 songs. (I was pushing for M to make up his bad behavior but I don't think that I could have convinced him that he was $300 or $400 worth of bad.) So M told me to go buy the "big" shuffle. It holds 240 songs...which is really fine because when I need something bigger, I'll pass this one down to A. She loves it, too. I've only got 103 songs on it now but I am so loving it!

Friday, March 25: Went to the grocery store. Rode horses with my friend, Lisa. Had a crawfish boil at my house...drank beer and ate crawfish. Chilled out.

Saturday, March 26: Got the house back in order for Easter company. Dyed Easter eggs with the girls. Spent most of the day uploading music to my iPod. Went to church. When we sat down in the pew at church, I twisted my ring and realized that the diamond was gone from my engagement ring. I don't think I heard a word of the mass because I was just sick about my diamond.

Sunday, March27: Went to rinse out the tub to take a bath and felt something hard...it was my diamond! I was so happy. Glad yall didn't see that nekkid happy jig! Had family over for Easter lunch. It was too wet to hunt Easter eggs so we just knocked them instead. I took a nap and then went out to brush the horses down. It was too wet to ride...and Pride had lost a shoe so I had to wait til the farrier came to fix it. Had a conversation with M about the roles of men and women...and sometimes, the man shocks me with his stupidity and double standards...he thinks that a man's role is to go to work and provide for his family and a woman's role is to take care of the house and family (meaning laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.). I asked him why I had all of those added responsibilities on top of working a full time job just like him. He said...I don't want to argue with you again. (Meaning...he is stupid and the only way not to sound more stupid is to shut up.) I guess this is why I don't feel guilty for getting an iPod when I wanted it. I deserve it...for putting up with him. (I do love my husband...and he's a good man...but he IS a man...which makes him STUPID.)

Monday, March 28: Laughing gas...shots in the mouth...A and I had dentist appointments. Then we had eye doctor appointments. A has to have glasses to read the board at school but I don't. Went to the horse auction. I will not feel guilty for asking $2,000 for Lissie. The horse auction makes me sad and I will never run a horse through that place. The horses that I saw at that sale were so poor and pitiful. I wanted to buy them just so they could have some food.

Tuesday, March 29: Cleaned house and did laundry all morning. Then I went out and saddled up Shorty for A. Dumbhead horse took a bite of my arm...which is now a lovely shade of purplish blue. This was the first time I did it all by myself. I was so happy that I accomplished that. I know I can do it now without M! Anyway, A practiced the barrels...and to watch us was hilarious! I'm jogging around the barrels and Shorty and A are chasing me. So funny. Then we go for a walk...A's on Shorty and I'm walking. I got some exercise yesterday and it felt good. When she got finished riding, I took Shorty for a ride. Then I unsaddled and washed him and fed them all. Then the farrier came and fixed Pride's shoe. Then Shannon came to see Sparkle. We went up in the loft to see Ellie-cat and her babies. We couldn't find the babies but we did find a dead stray Tom cat...which really freaked me out. I was just pure de-out ole sick. Ugh. Shannon worked the vet so she was okay about putting him in a plastic bag and M disposed of him. Ugh...I don't do dead animals. But I am worried about where my kittens are. I don't know if something happened to them or if Ellie moved them. She doesn't look too concerned. I'm thinking something happened to them...but I'd like to be more positive...but she's not acting like a good mother would. Shannon and I decided that we liked hanging out in the barn and the pasture better than being in the house. I thought I was the only person in the world that loved that barn smell and the smell of a horse. Watched American Idol...Carrie was INCREDIBLE last night. She was pretty much the only one for me that was memorable last night. She's such a star!

Wednesday, March 30: Today...I'm fixing to get up and finish getting dressed. I'm going to pass through the house and do a little laundry. Shannon is coming over at 1:00 to help me bathe Sparkle Jane. My daddy and step mother are coming this evening to plow up some spots for me to plant some plants. I hope I can convince Daddy that I only need a little spot of land plowed up because I really just want to ride my horses this summer. I don't want to be weeding the whole summer. I don't mind a little but not a whole big garden this year.

Well, that's what been going on in my life. I've got several things that I want to blog about but I better get some things done before Shannon comes...and my daddy comes. My best friend, Donna is flying in from Washington state tomorrow and I've got a lot to do to get ready for her. So I better get to work. I promise it won't be a week before the next post!
